Project James 1:29

Free Safety Check

What is Project James 1:27

This is a free one time safety check for elderly widows during the heating season.

For gas heat systems we will check burners and heat exchangers for proper operation.

For heat pump systems we will test the auxiliary heat strips for proper operation.

Widows that are 70+ years old and live in Duplin, Pender, Sampson, or Wayne counties are eligible.

Why James 1:27?

From the Bible, James 1: 27 says that “Religion that our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

We often see in our business elderly widows that are on a limited fixed income. We also find that their HVAC units are typically gas heat and are not serviced until there is a problem.

Gas heat systems that are not operating properly can produce the dangerous gas Carbon Monoxide. This gas is colorless, odorless, and tasteless - but it can have severe health impacts and even lead to death.

We want to help these widows stay safe and warm in the heating season

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What Happens If We Find A Problem?

We will notify the homeowner and/or family of any findings. We will give a quote on repairs - no strings attached.

  • Free, really?

This is a safety check, not a service call. The unit must be operating for us to check it. If not operating, a regular service call should be placed.

  • When can I schedule?

Same day response is not guaranteed and appointments will be scheduled when we have technicians available.
